Phase I of the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD Capital Project was approved by voters in December 2009. The $59 million project was completed on time and within budget.
For Phase II, a study group consisting of Board of Education members, teachers and administrators identified multiple needs through a comprehensive scoping process. The scope was organized into categories, costs were identified for each item, and items were prioritized based on need. The study group's goal was to recommend to Board of Education members items they should consider as part of Phase II.
The Capital Project Phase II referendum consisted of two propositions that were both approved by voters on December 9, 2014. The project recently completed the design, approval and bidding phase with the bulk of work beginning in summer 2016. It is anticipated that the project would be completed in 2018-19.
