Most files on the Kenmore West webpage can be viewed with your web browser, and all of the files can be viewed by computers on the Ken-Ton School's network. Users at home, however, may need other software to view certain documents.
Files that end in .doc were written with Microsoft Word. If you don't have a Word-compatible text program installed on your computer, you can download a free viewer from the Microsoft website that will let you view, print, and copy Word documents.
Files that end in .ppt are Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. There is also a free viewer available to download from Microsoft.
Files that end in .pdf are in Portable Document Format from Adobe. Most computers these days come with a .pdf reader installed. If yours is an exception, Adobe Reader, (another free download), will let you view these files..
Other Free Software
OpenOffice is a free set of programs that includes a word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation program. Its files are compatible with MS Office and other major office suites.
