    The ten-week per grade level curriculum prepares students to be competent and responsible adolescents. Life skills presented focus on problem-solving and decision-making. Hands-on activities , based on the three New York State Standards of Personal Health, Safe Environment, and Resource Management, include career exploration, home safety, nutrition, and clothing care/construction. Instruction for grade 5 includes personal development, personal hygiene, basic food preparation, and a sewing project. Grade 6 will be learning how to assemble a pillowcase along with food safety and preparation. Money management, food & nutrition, and entrepreneurship will be highlighted for 7th grade students. They will also create a fleece pillow while practicing sewing safety.
