We are proud of Ken-Ton School District instructional coach Phil Jarosz who was named the 2018 Person of the Year by the Buffalo Theatre Guild!
In his capacity as the district’s instructional coach for secondary math, Jarosz supports middle and high school math teachers across the district. He also has produced and directed numerous spectacular theatrical performances at Kenmore West High School for nearly two decades.
In addition, Jarosz was a driving force behind the extremely successful faculty show, a special variety show featuring the talents of Ken-Ton School District faculty, staff and administrators. He was instrumental in bringing the show back this year and it was a tremendous success, raising thousands of dollars for performing arts scholarships.
“Through his efforts, Phil has impacted the lives of hundreds of students, especially those interested in pursuing the arts as careers in college,” stated the Buffalo Theatre Guild in announcing the award which includes a commemorative plaque and $50 in “TAB Bucks” from the Theatre Alliance of Buffalo. “His shows are a visual spectacle for the everyone in the community: parents, students, teachers and lovers of theatre.”
Jarosz was among 10 nominees for the award and received the most votes out of 3,900 cast.
