April 27 Concert Will Feature Ken-West Jazz Ensembles & Jazz Great Bobby Militello

Kenmore West High School is proud to announce that a Special Guest Jazz concert featuring Buffalo jazz great Bobby Militello will take place in Kenmore West’s Starr Auditorium on Thursday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.  The concert is free and open to the public.

All three of the Kenmore West Jazz Ensembles will perform that night with Bobby Militello. Students will have the opportunity to work with Militello during the school day in a series of rehearsals and workshops. The Jazz Ensembles, under the direction of Kenneth Belote, will gain insight into jazz styles, improvisation techniques and other jazz concepts in the time they spend with Militello.

This is the second time that Militello will perform with the Kenmore West Jazz Ensembles. He performed with Kenmore West and Kenmore Middle School students in 2015.

“I had a lot of fun last time with Bobby Militello and I learned a lot about jazz,” said 11th grader Sarah Metzler. “I’m looking forward to performing with him again this year.”

Eighth graders Michael Vullo and Isabella Foti are looking forward to this concert as well.

“I have heard great things about Bobby Militello and I am looking forward to this concert,” Vullo said.

“I am incredibly excited to perform with him again in this upcoming concert,” Foti added.
