Franklin Elementary School Students Learn the True Meaning of 'Community'
Students were asked to share what communities they belong to (such as school, family, sports team, etc.) and then they created a pumpkin to show that they are all part of the Franklin Elementary School community.
Students chose pumpkins because it related with Unity Day, the color of which is orange. Wednesday, October 25 was Unity Day, a national day devoted to putting a stop to bullying and encouraging students to be kind, accepting and including of others who might be different than them.
In addition, fourth-grade students at Franklin Elementary provided daily challenges, encouraging students to be kind to one another and our community on the morning announcements.
