Electronic Device Code

 

Cell phones and all other electronic devices with a power switch cannot be visible on school grounds and must be powered off. While students are permitted to possess such devices, they are prohibited from using them in any manner that interferes with the educational process or invades the privacy of students.

·        All devices are to be stored in a book bag or locker.

·        This includes loading and unloading areas for cars and buses.

·        This includes before or after school, class time, lunch, field trips and practices for extracurricular events.

·        Placing a cell phone on vibrate is not considered off.

·        Using a cell phone to record or videotape is prohibited.

Violation of this prohibition will result in temporary confiscation and/or possible inspection of the device.

                                                            Edison Policy

1st Offense:  The electronic device will be removed from the student by the teacher and sent to the office. The device will be returned to the student at the end of the school day.

 

2nd Offense: The electronic device will be removed by the teacher and sent to the office. An administrator will contact the parent and the device will be returned to the student at the end of the day.

 

3rd Offense: The electronic device confiscated will be removed to the office. An

An administrator will contact the parent to come to school to retrieve the device.

 

  Parents needing to contact their children should call the main office and our staff will transmit the message.  School phones are always available to students before, during and after school.
