The Kenmore-Tonawanda UFSD is a member of the international Big Picture Learning network. Our students are members of small learning communities called advisories. Every grade has an advisor that students are grouped with to closely support their individual growth and interests. Each student develops a personal learning plan that identifies potential areas of interest and is personalized to their learning.
Our students participate in core content classes three days per week and also learn in a real-world setting through internships two days per week. The internships provide valuable learning experiences for our students and help to identify avenues for students to pursue as a long term career.
We encourage our families to be actively involved in the learning process. The Big Picture Learning model ensures that students are prepared for college and beyond! If you are interested in exploring the Big Picture Learning Program here in Ken-Ton please contact us for information.
If you have a business or non-profit and would be interested in offering a shadow day or an internship to a Big Picture Student, please contact internship coordinator Chris Watson via email or at 874-8403 x32325. Want to learn more about being a mentor?
